Faith & Encouragement: 6 Bible Verses I Read When I Feel Anxious

In my previous pregnancy update post, I wrote about how having anxiety during pregnancy can be very hard. I also mentioned I’ve been in deep prayer about my anxiety disorder and finding healing and God’s peace.

Aside from praying about my anxiety, I also like to read a Psalm a day. I started reading the Psalms for a Lenten challenge because I had never actually taken the time to read Psalms. I mean, I’ve read a Psalm here and there, but I never read the book in it’s entirety.

 I am so glad I started reading The Book of Psalms because I have found many scripture passages which encourage me greatly! I have even discovered many of the verses can be used for prayer.

Today I thought I’d share a few scripture passages I have read in The Book of Psalms which have been helpful for me with my anxiety.

Psalm 30:5

Pray because God hears your voice!

For to You I will pray.

My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord;

In the morning I will direct it to You,

And I will look up.

Psalm 5:3

God is with you even when you feel distressed.

Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me,

For I am desolate and afflicted.

The troubles of my heart have enlarged;

Bring me out of distresses!

Look on my affliction and my pain,

And forgive all my sins.

Psalm 25:12

Whom shall You Fear?

The Lord is my light and my salvation;

Whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the strength of my life,

Of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1

Have patience and wait on the Lord!

Wait on the Lord;

Be of good courage,

And He shall strengthen your heart;

Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Psalm 27:14

God is your strength and your shield!

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;

Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,

And with my song I will praise Him.

Psalm 28:7

Joy comes in the morning!

His favor is for life;

Weeping may endure for a night,

But joy comes in the morning.

Psalm 30:5

If you haven’t read The Book of Psalms or used it as a tool for encouragement during troubling times, I highly recommend you do!

Since beginning my Lenten journey this Easter season, I have pleasantly found meditating on the Word strengthens me, especially when I feel weak. And yes, even on those days when I don’t feel like reading my Bible.

When I stay in God’s Word, it keeps me connected to Him. I hope you, too, find these scripture passages encouraging and uplifting, too. Be blessed!

Peace & Love,
