Family Life: A Day of Fun in the Snow
You may have noticed or maybe you haven’t, but I got a little behind with my blogging. Okay, I got very behind with blogging.
For most of December and the beginning of January, I was sick. I have morning sickness really bad. About a week ago, I finally started to feel a little better. I still get nauseous from time to time, but luckily I have been able to manage my days a little better.
So here I am, back to blogging!
I thought I’d kick off 2017 with photos from our day of fun in the snow. We’ve had quite a few snow days since mid-December. The weather has been miserably cold. So cold that sometimes I can’t take the kids outside to play. But this particular snow day the weather wasn’t too harsh to go outside and play. (Although my daughter Mj would disagree because she just hates being out in the cold. Period.)
So we took the kids to our local park to play in the snow and go sledding.
Our Little Ones First Time Sledding
It was also Zechariah and Zhen’s first time sledding in the snow. At first, they were a little scared because they didn’t know what to expect. But we assured them they would have fun. Sure enough, once Daddy started slowly pulling the sled, they both started giggling and smiling. They had a ball!
My Oldest Always Keeping Us Laughing
My older son Elijah really loved playing in the snow. I love his happy spirit. Even though he’s 16, he loves spending time with his family and playing with his younger siblings. Of course, he’s also the jokester of the family. He had all of us laughing as he was being silly sledding down the hill and trying new tricks.
But Seriously. I’m Ready for Spring!
I love snow, but I am ready for Spring! I can’t wait for the weather to be warm enough where all we need is a light jacket. I am ready for the day time to last longer, too. This getting dark early is no fun and kind of makes me feel blue. I noticed over the weekend the sunset time was 5:25 p.m. This is a little later than it has been over the winter. A later sunset time makes me happy because I know that means Spring will be here soon!
